Complete beginners are welcome, and there are also afternoon sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
East Grinstead Chess Club meets on Wednesday evenings at the Social and Ex-Services Club near the station, offering graded and friendly games for players of every standard. The club fields three Sussex League teams and runs internal competitions, and juniors are welcome with a parent.
