Privacy

This site doesn't use cookies of any kind, so there's nothing to accept or decline.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service that sets no cookies and stores no personal data. It records things like which pages are viewed, which site sent you here, your browser, device type and country, clicks on a venue's website, phone number, map link or game night, the game and area filters you pick, how far you read a guide, and missing pages you land on, so we can see which listings people find useful and fix broken links. Your IP address is used only to work out your country and is never stored. We run Umami ourselves, the data is held in London, and we can't use it to identify you.

Everything else the pages need, including fonts, is served from this site, so your browser doesn't connect to any other company while you browse.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our emails, we keep your email address and the area you chose so we can send you the weekly and monthly emails for that area. We only send them because you ticked the box to ask for them and then confirmed by email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends. We don't sell or share your address.

Sign-ups and the emails themselves are handled by our email service, Kit (ConvertKit LLC), which processes your details on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Kit stores data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension. Kit records whether you open the emails and which links you click, so we can see which listings and events are useful; we use these figures in total, not to profile anyone.

Links to shops

Some links in our guides go to online shops that may pay us a small commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. We mark those links, and they never affect which venues we list or how we describe them.

Venue updates

When you send a venue update, claim a listing or contact us, we receive the details you enter in the form. If you include your email address, we use it only to reply or to deal with that request. We don't share it or add it to any mailing list, and we delete submissions once they've been dealt with.

Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider, Netlify.
