Southport Bridge Club on Albert Road runs a full week of face to face bridge, including a relaxed Monday morning session with no partner needed, Tuesday evening championship pairs, a relaxed Wednesday evening session for students, and Thursday and Sunday afternoon pairs. It also teaches beginners and improvers to the EBU course.
Gables Bridge Club plays duplicate on Monday and Friday afternoons at its clubhouse on Queens Road, Southport, starting at 1.30pm from 26 October. New members and visitors are warmly welcomed and players come with a partner.
Southport Chess Club meets every Wednesday at the Gables Bridge Club on Queens Road, with a junior section from 6pm for children aged 7 and up and the senior section from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Players of all ages and abilities are welcome for friendly games, club competitions and Merseyside League chess.
